With the previous release of the vendor version of 'Retail & Sponsored Ads Performance', aka the TACOS report for vendors, the next step was to make the custom item labels available for vendors too. That feature has now arrived along with a number of improvements to our ASIN labeling system.

TLDR: You can now see your Vendor's reporting by your own custom labels, uploaded in the Data Manager view of MixShift. While doing those uploads, you'll notice your bulkfile shows exactly what is seen in the view and will auto-update any new instances of an already existing ASIN with previously uploaded labels. This means you do not have to re-apply labels already added for a given ASIN if a new version of it makes its way into the catalog. We also added updates to our catalog pull system that identify ASINs not in the catalog but available in the orders data meaning your historical reporting can be labeled as well. This all translates into fewer label uploads, less maintenance, and fewer 'BLANKS' for missing labels in your reporting.

*Important: the new vendor report requires retail data to be activated. To do so, check out the video here: Vendor Retail Data Activation

*If you haven't yet activated retail data for your Vendor merchants and would like the reporting available, head to Account Manager below and activate them now. Vendor data is activated a bit differently than Seller so check out the video to see how to get Vendor retail data rolling: Vendor Retail Data Activation

Our Vendor Retail + Ads (TACOS & TACOGS) report has been a big hit with our vendor peoples out there. To make it truly powerful, we needed to enable our custom labeling options just like we have for our Seller reporting. With this release, you can now label and tag all of your Vendor ASINs, unlocking the ability to segment and group your reporting and analytics in MixShift by your own custom labels.

Want to see which product lines or brand groups are performing best? Find which colors are converting poorly? Determine which sizes are leading to the best Shipped COGS margin after advertising spend is deducted (TACOGS)? You can do all of that and more in MixShift's reports for Vendors with the new custom labels for vendors.

ASIN Label improvements including auto-updates

We've had our ASIN bulkfile labeling capabilities available for awhile now. A couple of things that have bugged us and you are:

🟠 Confusion in the bulk uploads because you're not sure which label values you've used previously since the export doesn't include them

β€‹πŸŸ  BLANKS appearing in reporting when a new version of an existing ASIN shows up in the catalog

🟠 BLANKS appearing in reporting because there are old ASINs in the historical sales data that don't exist in the catalog upon activation

We fixed all of those things and more with this latest update. Now, here's how we handle each of the items above:

🟒 Previously, we had both a bulkfile and a download table button option. Now, we've consolidated to a single Bulkfile, which will reflect exactly what you see in the view so you can use your current labels in the bulkfile and upload new values confidently.

🟒 We now pull ASIN values from your historical orders data that aren't in your catalog at the time of activation. This helps reduce 'BLANKS' in your reporting for older ASINs in the historical data as you can label them just like you would an item in the catalog. Note that with this release, you'll likely see new ASINs show up in your labeling views as we did a one time update to find all of the historical ASINs that didn't exist in your catalog at the time of activation.

*Pro tip: You can filter any of our label views to find the ASINs or Campaigns missing labels by filtering to the '*Blank Records' option, which will return any records that don't yet have a value applied for the given label such as 'Item Group'.

🟒 We consolidated to a single ASIN without SKU values. With that, we now auto-apply an existing ASIN's labels to new versions of a given ASIN automatically. i.e. When a new SKU or listing ID gets created for an existing ASIN, your labels are automatically applied. And don't worry about all those old labels, we've automatically updated all of them to the newest label version as well as carried your previously applied labels forward to each newer ASIN instance that should have had the existing label value with this release.

As always, we do extensive QA prior to the release but if you happen upon a bug or issue, please let us know at [email protected]. Or, if you have any ideas about how we can improve the experience in MixShift, drop us a line at the same email, thank you! We look forward to hearing what you think of the new features soon!
