As most of you know, sometimes the seller name we receive from Amazon doesn't match the name of the brand as you'd expect it to be. Now, you can update a merchant's name in MixShift and have it displayed as you want in the platform and reports.
TLDR: With this release, you can now update the display name of a merchant from the Advertising Merchants and SP-API Merchants tabs of Account Manager.
A couple of key notes:
Any merchant name change will sync throughout the platform as soon as you navigate to a different page.
We store the original name received from Amazon for reference, and display it below the merchant name fields of Account manager in case you forget the original name.
If you are relying on the 'Merchant Alias' field of the seller table in your external pulls, that field will have been overwritten with the original merchant name from Amazon. You can now instead simply reference the 'Name' field of the seller table directly.
Historical data in the metric tables will reflect the 'old' name until the date of the change. We are not retroactively updating the historical data at this time.
